Library UTMN is one of the oldest university libraries in the Tyumen Region. It is situated in the historical city centre crossing Respublika and Semakova Streets (18 Semakova St). It’s a place not only for borrowing books but also an intellectual space for work, educational activities, making new friends and having a rest.

1886
The merchant Alexander Bryukhanov built the two-story brick house in the modern historical Tyumen city centre crossing Respublika and Semakova Streets (earlier Tsarskaya and Podaruevskaya streets).

1900-е
Several organizations were located on the ground floor of the Bryukhanovs' house at different times: the crockery shop, lamp and furniture store.
1909
Vladimir Girman opened a "Moscow wallpaper store" in the Bryukhanovs' house.
1910-1915
The printing house and the "Vestnik Zapadnoy Sibiri" journal editorial office started to work at the Bryukhanovs' place.
Four collections are included in the UTMN fund collection:
History of University of Tyumen;
Archeology and Ethnography;
Biodiversity of the Tyumen Region
History of Physical Education and Sports of the Tyumen Region.
The University of Tyumen grew from a small agro-educational school that is why the earliest exhibits date to the establishment of the Agro-Pedagogical Institute in 1930.
Also, the University of Tyumen has a unique selection of rare books, which includes publications from the libraries of pre-revolutionary educational institutions in Tyumen, manuscripts collections and early printed books.

The main functions:
manage the UTMN Library’s digital services;
provide online access to library resources, collections, and repositories;
identify, digitize, and preserve information resources
provide technology service to library users
maintain the library programming activities
do general database management
Information Resources and Bibliography Department
This Department is one of the biggest in the UTMN Library’s structure.
The main functions:
create and maintain online catalogue of both physical and virtual collections;
describe, classify, and provide indexing of the libraries’ materials;
facilitate physical and digital access to library materials, maintain the library collections, assist users, and perform other activities related to library use and access;
providing information for academic reporting needs such as accreditations, program reviews, and new degree proposals;
provide information, research, and instructional services to all library users
Fund Collections and Socio-Cultural Projects Department
Department preserves, and provides access to unique primary source materials on the history of the University of Tyumen such as rare books, manuscripts, archives, artifacts, and media.
